Tilbhandeshwar Mahadev Mandir is one of the most oldest temples in the Kashi (Varanasi) city,situated in Bengali tola Madanpura. It’s dedicated to the Lord Shiva. Tilbhandeshwar Shivling increases every year by a nominal length “Til”.his temple has great religious importance in Hinduism and is dedicated to the Lord Shiva. Tilbhandeshwar Mandir was built in 18th century. Shani is recognized by every particle of Kashi. In the same Kashi, there are some Swayambhu Shivling whose story is more than two thousand years old. One such miraculous Shivling is that of Tilabhandeshwar Mahadev. Sage Vibhandak of South India came here two thousand years ago. He was amazed to see this Shivling growing a mole daily. Instead of going to Vishveshwar Mahadev (Kashi Vishwanath) temple, he stopped here and did spiritual practice for years. Later, after combining the nature of Shivalinga and the name of the sage, they were named Tilabhandeshwar.
